I first experienced this savory snack at one of my favorite sushi spots and I’ve been obsessing over it ever since. Spicy Edamame takes your typical everyday order of edamame {which I love} to the next level and I cannot believe that it took me this long to make the switch. It’s salty, slightly spicy with a kick of garlic and savory seasonings…. give me a bowl of this and a cold Belgian beer and I’m one happy camper! Here’s how I make it:
SPICY EDAMAME
- 2 cups frozen edamame in their shell
- 1/2 teaspoon canola oil
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced
- 1 tsp Montreal Steak seasoning
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Cook the edamame according to package directions.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, water, steak seasoning and red pepper flakes.
- Heat canola oil in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Once heated, add the garlic. Cook for one to two minutes, stirring to avoid the garlic from burning.
- Add the soy sauce mixture and increase the heat to medium. Allow to cook for 2 minutes then add the cooked edamame and toss well.
- Devour immediately.
